01 JetBackup vs Backuply — when to use which
| JetBackup | Backuply |
| Where it runs | Server-level (cPanel) | WordPress plugin |
| Frequency | Daily auto, kept 7 days | On-demand or scheduled |
| Restores | Files, DB, mail, full accounts | Full WP site (files + DB) |
| Off-site copy | Yes (ServerBD's remote) | Yes (Drive, Dropbox, FTP) |
| Best for | Hosting accounts, multiple sites | Single WordPress site |
02 Opening JetBackup
Step 1Log in to cPanel.
Step 2Scroll to the Files section → click JetBackup 5.
Step 3The dashboard shows the most recent backup date and three big tiles: Full Account Backups, File Backups, Database Backups.
03 Restoring individual files
Step 1Open File Backups.
Step 2Pick the date you want to restore from (each shown as a snapshot).
Step 3Browse into the directory tree, tick the file(s) or folder(s) to restore.
Step 4Click Restore Selected → confirm. Restore runs in the background.
Tip Use Download instead of Restore if you want to inspect the file first.
04 Restoring a database
Step 1JetBackup → Database Backups.
Step 2Pick the snapshot date.
Step 3Tick the database(s) to restore.
Step 4Click Restore Selected. Restore overwrites the existing database completely.
Warning If you've made changes after the snapshot, they'll be lost. Take a fresh export first if possible.
05 Restoring a full account
Step 1JetBackup → Full Account Backups.
Step 2Pick the snapshot.
Step 3Click Restore. Choose what to restore (files, DB, email, cron, DNS, etc.).
Step 4Click Restore Selected Items.
Note Full restores can take 5-30 minutes depending on account size. JetBackup will email you when done.
06 Backuply: WordPress one-click backup
Step 1WP Admin → Plugins → Add New → search Backuply → Install & Activate.
Step 2Open Backuply from the WP sidebar.
Step 3Click Backup Now — choose Full / Files-only / Database-only.
Step 4Once finished, you can download the archive or restore on another site.
To schedule
Step 1Backuply → Backup Settings → Auto Backup tab.
Step 2Set frequency = Daily or Weekly & rotation = 5 backups.
07 Downloading a backup off the server
Always keep a copy of important backups on a separate machine.
Step 1JetBackup → pick the backup → click Download.
Step 2JetBackup queues the export. Once ready, you'll get a download link in JetBackup → Queue.
Step 3Click the link to save the .tar.gz file to your computer.
Tip Even better — set up Backuply to push backups to your own Google Drive / Dropbox automatically.
