01 Opening Softaculous
Step 1Log in to cPanel.
Step 2Scroll down to Software section → click Softaculous Apps Installer.
Step 3You'll see a featured strip at the top (WordPress, Joomla, Drupal) and a left sidebar with categories.
Tip Use the search box at the top to jump to any of the 400+ scripts directly.
02 Installing WordPress
Step 1From Softaculous home, click the WordPress logo.
Step 2Click Install Now.
Step 3Choose:
- Protocol: https:// (recommended — SSL is free)
- Domain: pick your domain
- In Directory: leave blank for the root, or enter blog for /blog
- Site Name & Description: fill in
- Admin Username: don't use admin — pick something unique
- Admin Password: use the random generator
- Admin Email: a working address
Step 4Expand Advanced Options → tick Auto Upgrade and choose backup rotation.
Step 5Click Install. Within ~30 seconds you get a working WordPress at https://yourdomain.com/wp-admin.

03 Installing Joomla
Step 1Search for Joomla in Softaculous.
Step 2Click Install Now, choose protocol https://, domain and directory.
Step 3Set Site Name, Admin Username, Password and Email.
Step 4Click Install — Joomla admin will be ready at /administrator.
04 Installing Magento
Warning Magento needs a higher PHP memory limit (1GB+) and more disk space than other CMSes. Make sure your hosting plan supports it before installing.
Step 1Search Magento in Softaculous (under E-Commerce category).
Step 2Click Install Now, choose your domain & directory.
Step 3Set the admin URL slug (e.g. backend123) — don't use admin.
Step 4Set the store name, currency (BDT for Bangladesh), language and timezone.
Step 5Click Install. Wait 2-3 minutes — Magento takes longer to set up than other apps.
05 Cloning a WordPress install
Softaculous can copy an existing install to a different folder or domain in seconds — perfect for staging.
Step 1Open Softaculous → All Installations.
Step 2Find the install you want to copy → click the Clone icon.
Step 3Choose the destination domain & folder (e.g. staging).
Step 4Click Clone Installation. Done — files & database are duplicated automatically.
06 Backing up a script with Softaculous
Step 1From All Installations, click the Backup icon next to the install.
Step 2Tick Directory and Database, leave a backup note.
Step 3Click Backup Installation.
Step 4Open Backups & Restore from the top right of Softaculous to download or restore.

07 Auto-upgrading installed scripts
Keeping WordPress / plugins up to date is the single most effective security measure.
Step 1From All Installations, click the Edit (pencil) icon.
Step 2Scroll to Auto Upgrade and tick the boxes for major / minor / plugin updates.
Step 3Set Automated backups rotation to keep the last 3-5 backups.
Step 4Click Save Installation Details.
